Worshipping His Highest from Closer to the Ground

Last night the Junior Choir here at First Baptist Church in Grand Cayman did their summer musical: ‘That’s do Daniel!’, based on the life of Daniel from the Bible.

It included my favourite song of the moment, and one that I hope we’ll get to sing in church as “grown-ups”: ‘You are God alone’…

They sang the same song as part of our morning worship service and did a great job then also. Seeing your kid sing as part of a choir is cool. Seeing your kid sing a song of adoration and praise to a glorious, holy, sovereign God…that’s a whole different level of awesome.
You are not a god created by human hands.
You are not a god dependent on any mortal man.
You are not a god in need of anything we can give.
By your plan, that’s just the way it is.

You are God alone. From before time began
You were on Your throne. You were God alone
And right now in the good times and bad,
You are on Your throne. You are God alone!

You’re the only God whose power none can contend.
You’re the only God whose name and praise will never end.
You’re the only God who’s worthy of ev’rything we can give.
You are God, that’s just the way it is.

You are God alone. From before time began
You were on Your throne. You were God alone.
And right now in the good times and bad,
You are on Your throne. You are God alone!
Unchangeable! Unshakeable! Unstoppable! That’s what You are!
Unchangeable! Unshakeable! Unstoppable! That’s what You are!

You are God alone. From before time began
You were on Your throne. You were God alone.
And right now in the good times and bad,
You are on Your throne. You are God alone!
Unchangeable! Unshakeable! Unstoppable! That’s what You are!
